2011 HDRG Reman Summit Shaping Up

January 6, 2011

CHANTILLY, VIRGINIA – The Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association’s (APRA) Heavy Duty Remanufacturing Group will host their annual HDRG Summit at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, on January 17, 2011, just prior to the start of the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) also at the Mirage Hotel.

According to Bill Gager, President of APRA, the information-packed program will begin with opening remarks from Sandra Standley, Chairman of APRA’s HD Remanufacturing Group. Deborah Lockridge, Editor of Heavy Duty Trucking and Heavy Duty Aftermarket Journal, will share her insights into current and future trends in the trucking industry that remanufacturers should be aware of.

Omar Cueto of Dieselogic.com will discuss how living up to the 2003 Clean Air Act will improve the quality of remanufacturing and testing of electronic diesel fuel injectors and will reduce emissions during his session called, “Why Complicate the Remanufacturing Quagmire for the Aftermarket.” Next, Tony Blazek, National Sales Manager of Hot Flush, will discuss the hidden problems that may cause lost earnings in your business. This will be followed by a session on Workers Compensation by Gerry Cecil of Zurich Insurance.

Shawn Zwicker, Leader of New Business Development at Cummins, Inc. will talk about “Embracing the Future.” From a remanufacturing perspective the changes that are coming will challenge the industry to evaluate their traditional salvage techniques and Shawn will provide his insight into this process.

There will also be an additional presentation on “Electronics/Mechatronics issues that the Heavy Duty Remanufacturer needs to be aware of.”

Eric Adamson, Product Manager of SPX Service Solutions will give the group an overview of the DPF cleaning market, to be followed by a few words from Jon Gormin with Owner Resource Group in Austin, Texas. Rounding out the day will be a presentation from Gary Reed, President of Lock 'n Stitch, who will talk about “New Technologies for Salvaging Cores.”

An additional highlight of the HDRG Summit is the annual “Remanufacturer of the Year” Awards Luncheon. To register for the Summit or for complete program details, please visit www.hdrg.org.
