APRA Electronics
& Mechatronics Clinic to be Held in May
April 20, 2011
CHANTILLY, VIRGINIA – The Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association’s (APRA)
Electronics & Mechatronics Clinic will be held on May 19 & 20, 2011 at the
Detroit Metro Airport Hotel in Detroit, Michigan.
The Electronics & Mechatronics Division of APRA has been very active since its
inception in 2006. Their objective is to hold regular meetings to discuss and
exchange views about the future remanufacturing of new technologies and focus on
specific items like how to deal with the challenge of non-obtainable or obsolete
electronic and mechatronic components.
The clinic program is jam-packed with presentations and speakers with
“forward-thinking” and progressive ideas for the future. Craig Ayres, President
of SIMCO, will discuss the challenges and solutions to instrument cluster
remanufacturing. He will be followed by Pat Muldoon, Senior Manager Product
Development Engineering at MOPAR who will talk about what it takes to be a
remanufacturer for the OEMs. Then later in the day Russ Schinzing, President of
ERC, will address the challenges of electronic module communication. An
additional presentation is waiting to be confirmed and will be announced
shortly.
The clinic will end with a plant tour on Friday of Ford's F150 Assembly Plant or
another plant in the Detroit area.
