APRA Celebrates
70th Anniversary at BIG R Show
November 17, 2011
CHANTILLY, VIRGINIA – During the International BIG R Show on October 29-31, 2011
at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel, the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association
(APRA) celebrated their 70th Anniversary.
Past Chairman, Ivan Cregger was
on hand at the APRA History Booth, which had pictures from the 1940’s and 1950’s
as well as other association memorabilia. Cregger, who joined APRA in the late
1940’s and served as Chairman in 1983, answered questions about the people and
the things that helped APRA grow from a small group of business people with a
common vision to the worldwide association that it is today.
APRA
President, Bill Gager, added, “The members and volunteer leaders over the past
70 years had a real vision of what the rebuilding/remanufacturing industry
should be, and they worked hard to make it happen. Our thanks to those pioneers
who saw the need for remanufactured parts, seized the opportunity to grow as an
industry and worked together to provide society with both environmentally and
pocketbook friendly automotive and truck parts.”
