APRA's Jim
Madill Passes Away
June 11, 2010
CHANTILLY, VA – Jim Madill, who served as a consultant to the Automotive
Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA) for over 15 years, passed away on
Monday morning, June 7, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Madill primarily worked to expand APRA’s reach into the Heavy Duty Aftermarket
and was particularly instrumental in the development of APRA’s Heavy Duty
Remanufacturing Group and the annual HDRG Summit that was held prior to the
start of Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week. Jim was actively involved in developing
program content for APRA’s Heavy Duty Transmission Division and Volume
Transmission Remanufacturing Group and was always an active participant at
APRA’s International BIG R Shows.
APRA President, Bill Gager, commented, “I first met Jim in 1978 when he started
working with RENEWS Magazine. He provided me with a great deal of insight
into the heavy duty aftermarket and the growing importance of remanufacturing.
He knew many people and always greeted them with a friendly smile and a great
story.”
Madill was a graduate of Albion College in 1964 and was married to his wife Jean
for 43 years and had three daughters.
A memorial service will be held on June 14th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s
Episcopal Church, 305 South Clay Street, Greenville, MI 48838. Expressions of
sympathy may be sent to his family at 7832 Oakmont Ct., NE, Rockford, MI 49341.
