June 21, 2010
CHANTILLY, VA – John P. (Jack) Stack, President and CEO of SRC
Holdings Corporation in Springfield, Missouri, was presented with the Automotive
Parts Remanufacturers Association’s Distinguished Service Award on June 4, 2010
during the APRA MEGA Clinic.
In presenting the award, APRA Chairman George Davis, stated, “Jack Stack has
done a great deal over the past 27 years to elevate the remanufacturing industry
so that consumers and government officials understand the tremendous
contributions that the remanufacturing industry makes to protecting the
environment as well as keeping over 225 million vehicles on the nations
highways.”
In 1983, Stack and the SRC employees bought the company from International
Harvester and turned it into what INC. Magazine has proclaimed “one of
America’s most competitive small companies.” He is the author of the book,
The Great Game of Business, published in 1992, which was selected as one of
the thirty best business books of the year by Soundview Executive Book
Summaries. SRC has received both the National Business Ethics Award and the
Business Enterprise Trust Award. SRC was also selected as one of the Top 100
Companies to Work for in America. Jack’s second book, A Stake in the Outcome,
was published in March 2002.
Jack is a national and world judge and a past recipient of the Ernst & Young
Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Institute and has served as an advisor for this
group since 1998. INC. Magazine has called him the “smartest strategist
in America” and named him one of twenty-five entrepreneurs selected to represent
the 25 years INC. has been published. Jack was also listed among the “top
10 minds in small business” in Fortune Small Business Magazine.
APRA welcomes Jack Stack to this distinguished group of leaders of the
remanufacturing industry.
