Craig Van
Batenburg to Discuss Hybrid Car Technologies at 2010 BIG R Show
June 17, 2010
CHANTILLY, VIRGINIA – Fernand Weiland, Co-chairman of the Automotive Parts
Remanufacturers Association’s (APRA) Electronics & Mechatronics Division
announced that Craig Van Batenburg, CEO of ACDC (www.fixhybrid.com) who is a 10
year veteran of hybrid car service, training and technical writer, will speak at
the Electronics & Mechatronics Clinic in Las Vegas during the APRA International
BIG R Show on November 1, 2010.
Weiland stated, “The future of hybrid vehicles offers great opportunities for
remanufacturers who are prepared to learn and familiarize themselves with the
new technologies. Hybrid and future electrical powertrains will dramatically
change vehicles to the extent that only remanufacturers who are embracing these
changes will continue to enjoy a sustainable business.”
Craig Van Batenburg, who conducts training classes internationally for the
aftermarket and is considered to be a leader in the high voltage electrification
of vehicles will speak at the APRA clinic about “Regenerative Braking,” which is
the term for how hybrid and electric cars capture kinetic energy when they slow
down and store it in a high voltage battery pack. He will also talk about what
the charging system looks like in hybrid and electrical cars.
Bill Gager, APRA President stated, “We are very pleased to have Craig speak once
again to our group. He is a leader in this field of training and will provide
our members with a great deal of insight into these new opportunities.”
The International BIG R Show will be held on October 30-November 1, 2010 at the
Las Vegas Hilton Hotel just prior to the AAPEX and SEMA Shows. For more details,
