John Weller
Named Heavy Duty Remanufacturer of the Year
February 24, 2009
CHANTILLY, VIRGINIA – A highlight from the Heavy Duty Remanufacturing Group (HDRG)
Summit on February 16, 2009, was the luncheon featuring the second annual “Heavy
Duty Remanufacturer of the Year” award. The award was presented to John Weller,
President of Weller Truck Parts in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as an acknowledgement
of his outstanding leadership and industry vision.
The award was presented by APRA Chairman Sandra Galvin Standley. Weller is the
second recipient of this award which was named in honor and memory of the first
recipient, Mike Hill, who recently passed away.
John Weller and his brothers have grown the original family body shop, founded
by his grandfather into a multi-location remanufacturing and distribution
business serving truck service shops from coast-to-coast and border-to-border.
The growth has come from a sustained customer-focused business philosophy, and
expanding their marketing footprint by providing knowledgeable sales and service
staff and adequate inventories to ensure their customers have the correct part
at the time they need it to avoid unnecessary downtime.
The Weller Reman Center remanufactures transmissions, axles and steering
components for their company owned parts distribution centers and their
distribution partners.
“The Board of Directors of APRA and its HDRG members salute John Weller on this
outstanding accomplishment,” stated Chairman Sandra Standley.
The HDRG Summit was held in conjunction with the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW)
and was attended by a large audience of remanufacturers and suppliers. APRA’s
HDRG division plays a significant role in HDAW by holding its annual HDRG Summit
in conjunction with the annual event.
