APRA
Electronics & Mechatronics Clinic to be Held in May
February 23, 2009
CHANTILLY, VIRGINIA – APRA’s 2009 Electronics & Mechatronics Clinic will be held
on May 12 & 13, 2009 at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites in Duluth, Minnesota.
The Electronics & Mechatronics Division of APRA has been very active since its
inception in 2006. Their objective is to hold regular meetings to discuss and
exchange views about the future remanufacturing of new technologies and focus on
specific items like how to deal with the challenge of non-obtainable or obsolete
electronic and mechatronic components.
The clinic program is jam-packed with presentations and speakers with
“forward-thinking” and progressive ideas for the future. Russ Schinzing of DMR
Electronics will give a preview of his plant prior to the tour on May 13. There
will also be a presentation on “Reverse Engineering Microprocessors” by Michael
J. Britt & Tom Weingartner of Innovasic Semiconductor in Albuquerque, New
Mexico. Rex Vandenberg of Injectronics Australia, Pty. in Hallam, Victoria,
Australia, will discuss the challenges with testing components. An additional
presentation is waiting to be confirmed and will be announced shortly.
The clinic will end with a plant tour of DMR Electronics in Hibbing, Minnesota.
DMR designs, manufactures and remanufactures industrial electronic components
and wiring harnesses for trucks, buses, trains, heavy equipment, and more. DMR
has grown to become one of the premier remanufacturing centers in the country.
